Being assured that something is being done when the alarm activates. You can specify several contact numbers which means your alarm can be dealt with by a friend or neighbour, or a guard even if you are away from home or cannot get back to the property in time.

Insurance premiums are usually lower if you have a monitored alarm.

Four benefits of using security alarm monitoring

If you do not want full-time monitoring, then short-term holiday monitoring can be arranged for times when you are less likely to be able to respond to an alarm activation yourself.

Benefits include:

Have you swapped to fibre or a digital phone?

If your alarm has been monitored via an analogue (copper) phone line and you switch to fibre and an internet phone connection then some changes may be required.

In some cases it is a relatively simple process of re-routing cable and connections. In others, an IP module will need to be installed and connected to your modem to monitor the alarm system over the internet. This will require cabling or wifi connection between the alarm system and the modem.
